What this means for your family

While Shawneespring has a highly regarded therapy team that can be excellent for short-term recovery, the facility has a recurring pattern of serious neglect allegations. If you choose this facility, you must be physically present daily to monitor hygiene, call light response, and medication administration, as these are the most frequently cited areas of failure.

Key Review Excerpts

Therapy dept. was second to none. Vicki and Cara worked endlessly with her and got her up and moving. Now that we are nearing discharge, Social worker Krista has been very helpful with discharge planning, putting our mind at ease.

Long-term resident's family · 2023★★★★★

My mother was neglected the entire time she was in this facility, until we could finally get her out. She was left in soiled clothes for 12 hours (more than once), was given no help with her basic hygiene, was never checked on or offered hydration between meals.

Long-term resident's family · 2023☆☆☆☆

The nurse I spoke to at Shawneespring said something like an infection might have been brewing, a UTI, and because of their quick action, he was treated and is now doing much better.
