What this means for your family

Senior Village Healthcare appears to be a high-touch, small facility that excels for mobile residents, but families of bedridden or medically complex patients should exercise extreme caution. Before choosing this facility, ask specifically about their protocols for preventing infections and how they ensure consistent monitoring for non-ambulatory residents, as these are the primary areas of concern cited by families.

Senior Village Healthcare receives highly polarized feedback, with many families praising the small, home-like environment and attentive nursing staff, while others report severe concerns regarding neglect and medical oversight. While several reviewers highlight significant improvements in their loved ones' health and hygiene, critical reports mention issues with bedridden care, delayed medical treatment, and unprofessional communication. Families considering this facility should be aware of these starkly contrasting experiences.

Questions for Your Tour

  • 1Given the facility's cozy size, how do you ensure that residents who are less mobile receive consistent attention and assistance with repositioning throughout the day?
  • 2Could you walk me through your specific protocols for monitoring and preventing common infections like UTIs, especially for residents who may not be able to communicate their symptoms clearly?
  • 3I noticed your focus on improving activity levels; what does a typical day look like for residents who prefer to stay in their rooms versus those who participate in group activities?
  • 4How does your nursing team coordinate with outside physicians to ensure that medication adjustments or medical treatments are implemented promptly?
  • 5What steps are being taken to foster a professional and supportive culture among the staff to ensure that all interactions with residents and families remain consistently respectful?
  • 6Since you have a smaller resident population of 50, how do you personalize care plans to ensure that individual needs are met rather than just following a standard facility-wide schedule?

Key Review Excerpts

The management and nursing staff have always communicated with me on any issues or needs. I'm thankful we found Senior Village.

Long-term resident's family · 2024★★★★★

My father, a WWII vet received extremely insufficient care at this facility. If your loved one is mobile they possibly could receive good care. My father was bedridden and he was seldom checked on to the point I hired someone to sit with him to help him drink and eat.

Long-term resident's family · 2022☆☆☆☆

She is getting regular baths and wonderful wound care! Harley, Noel and Kelsey are amazing with her during the day! Paige and Tatiana are wonderful at night!
