What this means for your family

While some families report excellent experiences, particularly in the 'Cottage' wing and with the therapy department, the recurring reports of neglect and hygiene issues are deeply concerning. If you consider this facility, conduct an unannounced visit during off-hours to observe response times and cleanliness, and ask specifically how they ensure residents are changed and medications are administered correctly.

Riverview Village receives highly polarized feedback, with some families praising the facility for compassionate, family-like care, while others report severe neglect and hygiene issues. Critical concerns consistently include slow response times to call lights, poor sanitation, and inconsistent care regarding basic hygiene and medication management. Prospective families should be aware that experiences appear highly dependent on specific staff members and the wing in which a resident is placed.

Key Review Excerpts

She had excellent care, and staff and nurses were especially kind to my husband and me.

Long-term resident's family · 2025★★★★★

The physical therapist are wonderful and so is Victoria but I would not recommend anyone putting a love one in there. They can not get the medications right and it is hard to get anyone to help you . It is also very dirty. Ants everywhere.

Family member · 2024★★★☆☆

I’ve witnessed the head nurse talking about she’s about to quit and talking about how bad the pay is. I’ve asked where water was and they ignore me. I’ve rang the call light they sit.
