What this means for your family

While Riverbend offers an excellent activities program and a dedicated therapy team, the facility has a recurring pattern of serious hygiene and neglect issues. We strongly advise families to conduct an unannounced visit to check the cleanliness of the halls and rooms, and to ask management specifically how they ensure consistent daily hygiene for residents who require assistance.

Google Reviews

Google Reviews

62 reviews on Google
Riverbend Post Acute Rehabilitation receives highly polarized reviews, with some families praising the compassionate staff and therapy team, while others report severe neglect and unsanitary conditions. Multiple reviewers have raised alarming concerns regarding hygiene, including persistent odors of urine, lack of hot water, and failure to assist residents with basic personal care. While some residents and family members feel well-supported, the frequency of reports regarding neglect and poor communication suggests significant inconsistency in the quality of care provided.

Key Review Excerpts

The first and second floors smell like stale urine. The elevator stinks and is very old and creepy, you never know when it's going to stop working.

Long-term resident's family · 2025☆☆☆☆

The facility is filthy. Molding tiles on the ceiling. No hot water in my Aunts bathroom. My Aunt was not bathed during my 4 days there and per family members who were there daily, she was never bathed.

Long-term resident's family · 2022☆☆☆☆

The staff has been supportive with the care of our family member. There were times when we had issues concerning his care and each time when addressed we were able to solve the issue.

Nearly half of this facility's deficiencies stem from families filing complaints about concerning care issues. The most recurring problems involve resident rights violations, fire safety deficiencies, and medication management errors. While the facility has corrected all cited deficiencies, the pattern of complaint-driven citations across multiple surveys spanning 2023-2025 suggests ongoing care quality concerns that prompt family members to report problems to state authorities.
