What this means for your family

While the facility's rehabilitation gym and therapy programs are frequently praised, families should be aware of significant, recurring reports of rude staff and slow response times for pain medication. We strongly recommend visiting the specific unit your loved one would be assigned to and asking management directly about their current nurse-to-patient ratios and protocols for pain management.

Key Review Excerpts

The nurses and the CNAs are very kind and take the time to answer our (many) questions. Response time is quick after our mom pushes the help button.

Long-term resident's family · 2025★★★★★

The staff on the first floor were cold, rude and non caring. I never saw a smile, kind word, or even a friendly remark to any patient or family member.

Friend of patient · 2024☆☆☆☆

My mother was sent there after she broke her hip and had surgery. My mother also has Lewy Body Dementia. It is my understanding that a rehab facility is not supposed to admit a patient if they do not have the ability to provide long term services.

3deficiencies
Near state avg (5.9)

Memphis Jewish Home shows recurring deficiencies across multiple care areas but has corrected all identified issues. The facility has persistent problems with resident assessment and care planning (appearing in all three surveys), medication management, and infection control. Fire safety violations emerged in the most recent 2024 survey alongside quality of care concerns. While all deficiencies were corrected, the pattern suggests ongoing operational challenges families should discuss during visits.
