Questions for Your Tour

  • 1I noticed your team is very active in responding to feedback online; how do you use that family input to improve the daily experience for residents?
  • 2Given that the facility has had some recent challenges with medication management, could you walk me through the specific safety protocols and double-check systems you have in place to ensure medications are administered accurately and on time?
  • 3With the current staffing levels, how does your team ensure that residents receive timely assistance with daily needs like hygiene and mobility throughout the entire day and night?
  • 4I’ve heard wonderful things about your therapy and dietary teams; how do these departments coordinate with nursing staff to ensure a resident's care plan is being followed consistently?
  • 5What specific measures or security policies do you have in place to protect residents' personal belongings and ensure their items are tracked and kept safe?
  • 6Since communication is so vital for families, what is the standard process for updating us on any changes in care, and who is our primary point of contact for addressing concerns?

Key Review Excerpts

The staff was amazing. Very friendly. I met the kitchen mgr (Cassie I think her name is) and she was an absolute dream! She listened to my concerns and she validated them (which I appreciated more than you will ever know).

Family member · 2025★★★★★

My husband was transferred to Hoyt from St Mary's Hospital at 5 pm one day. Hoyt knew he was coming and yet were ill prepared for his admission. He did not get his crucial IV antibiotic, nerve pain medication or steroid that day, nor the next day.

Spouse of resident · 2021☆☆☆☆

Mom had to go to rehab for a short stay The transition was so easy because she loved the food so much. She even stayed longer than anticipated because she couldn’t get over how delicious the food was.
