What this means for your family

Adira offers a clean environment with a highly regarded therapy team, making it a potential option for short-term rehabilitation. However, families must be vigilant regarding basic care needs; we strongly recommend asking how the facility ensures call lights are answered promptly and how they manage medication schedules, as these are recurring points of failure in recent reviews.

Google Reviews

Google Reviews

82 reviews on Google
Adira Nursing and Rehabilitation receives highly polarized feedback, with many families praising the facility's physical environment and dedicated therapy staff, while others report severe concerns regarding neglect and communication. While some visitors describe a warm, attentive atmosphere, multiple reviewers have documented critical failures in basic care, including delayed response times to call lights, medication management issues, and poor wound care. Families should be aware that experiences appear to vary significantly depending on the specific staff on duty and the time of week.

Questions for Your Tour

  • 1I noticed your team is very active in responding to online feedback; what is your current process for ensuring that family concerns are communicated effectively across different shifts?
  • 2Given that physical and occupational therapy are noted as strengths here, how do you integrate those services into a resident's daily routine to ensure they stay active and engaged?
  • 3With the current staffing levels, what specific protocols do you have in place to ensure that call lights and requests for basic assistance are addressed in a timely manner?
  • 4Could you walk me through your current system for medication management and how you ensure that residents receive their pain relief and treatments exactly as scheduled?
  • 5I understand that hygiene and wound care are critical for resident health; what oversight measures are in place to ensure these tasks are consistently performed to a high standard?
  • 6Since weekends can sometimes be challenging for staffing, how do you maintain consistent care quality and support for residents during those days?

Key Review Excerpts

The ladies who work in the Memory Care unit of Adira- are the best. It is a challenging, exhausting job and they do their best to care for everyone with kindness and respect.

Memory care family member · 2025☆☆☆☆

However, there is a fundamental lack of communication between shifts, call lights can go unanswered for extremely long periods of time, and the pharmacy used at this facility is truly awful at responding to medication changes.

Family member · 2024★★☆☆☆

I needed assistance to the bathroom. Call light was answered after an hour, which than I had to urinate on myself. I had to wait 2 hours pass my time fore my pain medication for breakthrough pain.

23 complaint-triggered

Adira has faced significant problems, with 23 deficiencies triggered by family complaints. The facility repeatedly struggles with pressure ulcer care, medication management, and infection control across multiple surveys since 2022. While all issues show correction dates, the persistent pattern of similar problems—particularly pressure ulcer care appearing in complaint reports twice—suggests ongoing care quality challenges that families should carefully investigate before choosing this facility.
