What this means for your family

While Hillcrest Home is often praised for its clean environment and supportive social work, the recent, severe reports regarding nursing professionalism and clinical care are deeply concerning. We strongly recommend that you conduct an unannounced visit during a weekend or evening shift to personally observe staffing levels and speak directly with nursing management about their clinical protocols.

Hillcrest Home receives high praise for its clean environment, warm atmosphere, and dedicated staff members like the social worker. However, recent reviews highlight severe concerns regarding nursing professionalism, understaffing, and quality of care during end-of-life situations. Families should weigh the positive facility aesthetics against the serious allegations of inadequate clinical support.

  • 2I noticed some feedback regarding the dining experience; could you walk me through how you manage meal planning and if there are options for residents with specific dietary preferences or needs?
  • 3With medication management being a critical part of daily care, could you explain the protocols your nursing staff follows to ensure accuracy and safety for each resident?
  • 4How do you currently approach staffing levels during peak hours to ensure that the CNA team has the support they need to maintain the warm, home-like environment mentioned by so many families?
  • 5Could you share how your clinical team handles medical emergencies or changes in a resident's condition, particularly during evening or weekend shifts?
  • 6What does a typical social calendar look like for residents, and how do you encourage participation to keep everyone engaged and active within the community?

Key Review Excerpts

Completely under staffed and food is terrible. I learned this, not just from my parents, but first hand. I stayed with both my parents when they were dying. It's not acceptable. I will say their social worker, Dawn, is a God send.

Memory care family member · 2021★★☆☆☆

They have some of the worst nurses. One refused to come out and do her job. The other insulted me and told me I wasn’t cleaning him up good enough when. His catheter came out… sorry but I’m not a licensed nurse.

Long-term resident's family · 2026☆☆☆☆

The CNA's are wonderful. Great care, great staff.
