What this means for your family

While the facility is praised for its cleanliness and social environment, the recurring reports of medication errors and lack of clinical supervision are serious red flags. If you are considering this facility, demand a meeting with the Director of Nursing to discuss their specific protocols for medication administration and staffing ratios during off-hours.

Questions for Your Tour

  • 1With the facility being a smaller community of 50 residents, how do you ensure consistent communication with families regarding daily updates and care changes?
  • 2I noticed you have a very active social and religious program; could you walk me through what a typical week of activities looks like for a new resident?
  • 3Given that medication management is such a critical part of care, could you explain the specific protocols and double-check systems you have in place to ensure accuracy?
  • 4How does your leadership team approach staff training to ensure that residents receive prompt and attentive responses to their basic daily needs?

Key Review Excerpts

My mother was at River Pines for 2 1/2 years,,she passed away on Valentine’s Day 😔 She received EXCELLENT care and became a fast favorite! She had her hair done weekly in the beauty shop, daily activities, and most important church every Sunday 😊

Long-term resident's family · 2024★★★★★

I've never seen such a disorganized home. Tell workers my Dad needs to go to the bathroom and they walk right out of the room like they didn't hear me. Many things happen like this that I've seen here.

Long-term resident's family · 2024☆☆☆☆

Staff working out of their scope of practice with no supervision. No RN on site every time I went to see my aunt. Medications weren’t given correctly
