Elderwood Assisted Living at Wheatfield receives highly polarized reviews, with a stark divide between short-term rehab patients and long-term care families. While the physical and occupational therapy departments are consistently praised for their effectiveness, many families report severe neglect, poor hygiene, and medication management errors in the long-term nursing units. Potential residents and their families should be aware of recurring complaints regarding understaffing, slow response times, and poor communication from administrative and nursing staff.

Key Review Excerpts

Never send a loved one here. Ever. Takes forever to answer a red button call. Soiled clothes thrown on clean clothes. Feces on bed.

Long-term resident's family · 2025☆☆☆☆

The PT/OT department is very good and he is progressing nicely. The nursing staff and aides are very caring and attentive to the patients.

Rehab patient's spouse · 2023★★★★★

If your loved one cant speak for themselves, check on them everyday! Also, go at different times of the day. If they know what time you come they leave the resident in filth until right before you visit.
