What this means for your family

While East Bay Rehabilitation Center is frequently praised for its physical therapy program and clean facility, the frequency of serious allegations regarding patient neglect and medication management is concerning. Questions for Your Tour

  • 1Given the recent focus on physical and occupational therapy here, how do you integrate those sessions into a resident's daily routine to ensure they stay active and engaged?
  • 2I noticed some families have expressed concerns regarding response times for nursing assistance; what is your protocol for ensuring residents receive timely help when they call for support?
  • 3How does your team manage medication administration to ensure accuracy, and what steps do you take to keep families informed about any changes to a loved one's prescriptions?
  • 4We understand that personal belongings are important to residents; what security measures or labeling systems do you have in place to prevent the loss of personal items?
  • 5Since communication is a priority for us, what is the best way for families to receive regular updates from management regarding their loved one's care and well-being?
  • 6I see that you actively respond to feedback online; how do you use that family input to make tangible improvements to the dining experience and daily life at the facility?

Key Review Excerpts

The therapy was great but I can say the rest not so much. The food is terrible. They offer alternatives but you are lucky if they actually bring it. The place itself is so outdated. Rooms are small and 2 people in them with wheelchairs is very difficult to navigate.

Rehab patient's family · 2024★★☆☆☆

My partner of 23 yrs was there for 6 weeks and was mistreated by med techs by over medicated with pain pills which resulted in 2 falls within 3 hours apart and tried to coverup 1 of the falls.

Long-term resident's family · 2025☆☆☆☆

The outside of the building and the grounds are immaculate, and the inside looks clean, freshly painted, and well maintained. Unfortunately, the same level of care is not given to the patients.
