What this means for your family

Coventry Meadows has a strong reputation for its physical therapy and rehabilitation services, making it a potential candidate for short-term recovery. However, families should be extremely cautious regarding long-term or memory care placements. We strongly advise you to ask for a tour of the specific unit your loved one will reside in and inquire directly about current staffing ratios and the process for escalating communication issues with management.

Coventry Meadows receives highly polarized feedback, with many families praising the facility's physical beauty, cleanliness, and specific staff members in the rehab department. However, there is a recurring pattern of serious complaints regarding poor communication, understaffing, and neglectful care, particularly in the memory care and long-term nursing units. Families should be aware that while some experiences are excellent, others report significant issues with responsiveness and basic resident care.

Questions for Your Tour

  • 1I noticed your team is very active in responding to online feedback; how do you use that family input to improve communication and follow-up processes?
  • 2Given that your therapy team is so highly regarded, how do you integrate their expertise into the daily care plans for residents who are not in active rehabilitation?
  • 3We understand that staffing levels can fluctuate; what specific protocols are in place to ensure call-light response times remain consistent throughout the day and night?
  • 4Since dining is such an important part of daily life, could you walk us through how you gather resident feedback to improve the quality and variety of the meal service?
  • 5With the facility being so modern and well-maintained, how do you ensure that the same level of attention to detail is applied to medication management and clinical oversight?
  • 6What does a typical day look like for residents in your memory care wing, and how do you ensure they receive the personalized attention they need?

Key Review Excerpts

The staff was great. The food was so so. The bed had no place to put the call button or bed control, so I had to get out bed to call the help. The light also could not be reached from the bed. The toilet does not flush.

Rehab patient · 2024★★☆☆☆

My 90 yr old mom has been here for over 2 years and the staff is always respectful and compassionate. The facility is clean and any health problems are always addressed quickly.

Long-term resident's family · 2023★★★★★

Great rehab facility. Very poor assisted living memory care unit. I can't say enough good things about the rehab facility. Clean, people care, lots of staff, and the food looked good. After rehab we moved my father to the Memory Care unit across the street. We thought it would be similar to the rehab facility. Wrong, complete opposite.

Coventry Meadows has a pattern of recurring fire safety and building maintenance issues, with deficiencies found in electrical systems, fire door maintenance, and smoke safety equipment across multiple surveys from 2023-2025. The facility also had complaint-triggered deficiencies involving resident protection from abuse and assistance with daily care activities, indicating families have filed reports about care concerns. While all deficiencies show correction dates, the repeated fire safety violations across three years suggest ongoing maintenance challenges that families should discuss during visits.
