What this means for your family

This facility is an excellent choice for intensive physical and aquatic therapy, with many patients achieving life-changing recovery results. However, families must be aware of consistent reports regarding slow nursing response times and poor communication. If you choose this facility, we strongly recommend having a family member present or involved in care coordination to bridge the gap in nursing responsiveness.

Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute receives high praise for its specialized physical, occupational, and aquatic therapy programs, with many patients reporting significant recovery progress. However, there is a stark divide regarding the inpatient nursing care, with numerous reviewers citing slow response times to call lights, unprofessional conduct, and poor communication between shifts. Families should be aware that while the therapy department is widely considered excellent, the nursing and administrative support for inpatient stays is frequently described as inconsistent or neglectful.

Key Review Excerpts

My son was here for many months and the work they did with him was amazing. he went from someone who the doctors said would be a vegetable to someone who is functioning normally in society again.

Rehab patient's family · 2025★★★★★

The therapy sessions are good, but the nursing care is exceedingly lackluster. It takes sometimes 10-15 minutes for them to respond to the nurse call light... if he needed the bathroom or if something serious happened, that negligence is borderline malpractice.

Rehab patient's family · 2024☆☆☆☆

If you are going here for the therapy, then this place is a good idea. If you are going here for the nursing care, then its not a very good idea. No coordination between shifts of nurses and RA's.

Families have filed complaints that triggered inspections, including recurring issues with pressure ulcer care that appeared in two separate 2025 complaint investigations. The facility has faced deficiencies in wound care, infection control, and staffing transparency, though all violations have been corrected according to state records. While the pattern of complaint-driven surveys raises some concerns, the facility's track record of addressing identified problems may provide reassurance to prospective families.
