What this means for your family

Cottingham is highly regarded for its compassionate staff and clean environment, making it a strong candidate for many families. However, given reports of administrative transparency issues and occasional staffing shortages, we recommend that you ask specifically about their current nurse-to-resident ratios and request a clear point of contact for administrative concerns before committing.

Key Review Excerpts

The Ivy Court staff have always been responsive to my many questions by email or phone. The State required restrictions on visiting have been maddening... However, I had several nurses from outside agencies (Hospice, 3rd party payer) who voluntarily told me after they visited there that Cottingham was one of the better facilities my Dad could be at.

Memory care family member · 2021★★★★★

The residents are AWESOME! The floor staff, nursing and patient care is fantastic! The administration is very bad. In over 30 years of practicing law I have never encountered so much lack of transparency and little regard for residents rights.

Family member · 2024★★★★★

My mom has been there since 2006. She had her own apartment but she had to go to other parts for more care. It’s always clean with kind staff and take good care of her.
