What this means for your family

Carrollwood Care Center is frequently praised for its clean environment and helpful admissions process, making it a common choice for short-term rehab. However, you must be aware of the recurring reports regarding slow response times to call lights and inconsistent nursing care. We strongly recommend visiting during off-hours or weekends to observe staffing levels and response times firsthand before making a decision.

Carrollwood Care Center receives highly polarized feedback, with many families praising the facility for its cleanliness, helpful admissions team, and attentive nursing staff. However, a significant number of reviewers report critical failures in care, including slow response times to call buttons, neglect of basic hygiene, and poor communication regarding medical treatment. Families should be aware that while many report a positive rehab experience, others describe a facility that is understaffed and unresponsive to patient needs.

Key Review Excerpts

The service there is terrible. The food is not nutrisous and most of the staff don't speak english. No one seems to know how to get with the doctor on staff and no commution between doctor and patients family.

Family member · 2024☆☆☆☆

When you use the call button it takes at least an. hour for anyone to respond. I called once and it took two and a half hour. My room mate has waited for up to four hours.

Rehab patient · 2024☆☆☆☆

The admissions team is very knowledgeable and has helped me figure out the process easily . Also, the nursing team is outstanding and the office staff is very inviting and always smiling .

Carrollwood Care Center shows a concerning pattern of recurring deficiencies across multiple care areas, with 24 violations found in three surveys over recent years. The facility has persistent issues with medication management (appearing in both 2022 and 2025), infection control (cited in 2021 and 2025), and equipment safety problems. While all deficiencies show correction dates, the recurrence of medication errors and infection control issues suggests ongoing operational challenges that families should investigate during visits.
