What this means for your family

While the facility's physical and occupational therapy teams are frequently praised, the recurring reports of hygiene neglect and slow response times are critical red flags. If you choose this facility, we strongly recommend daily, unannounced visits to monitor your loved one's care and ensure their immediate needs are being met.

Autumn Lake Healthcare at Ruxton receives highly polarized feedback, with many families reporting severe concerns regarding neglect, poor hygiene, and inadequate staffing levels. While some residents and families praise the physical therapy department and specific staff members for their compassion, these positive experiences are frequently overshadowed by reports of residents left in soiled conditions, unaddressed call bells, and poor communication from management.

Key Review Excerpts

The therapy department here is top notch and definitely among the best in the area. I have had several good interactions with staff but nurse Robin is the best.

Rehab patient family · 2023★★★★★

My mom was a patient at Autumn Lake from August 2024-January 26th 2025 in the Arcadia wing. That wing cares for patients with Dementia and Alzheimers. The staff was always friendly to my family, but most importantly, they really loved my Mom and took great care of her.

Memory care family member · 2025★★★★★

My husband was at the facility for respite care I went and visited him at 10:45am and when I arrived there he was filthy soak and wet and he smelled like urine sitting out in the open had not been changed since God knows when.
