What this means for your family

Aurora on France offers excellent physical and occupational therapy, making it a strong candidate for short-term post-surgical recovery. However, the facility has a persistent pattern of understaffing and poor responsiveness to call lights. If you choose this facility, it is essential to have a family member present to advocate for the patient and ensure basic needs are met, especially on weekends and nights.

Aurora on France is a polarizing facility where experiences are often split between high-quality rehabilitation services and significant failures in basic nursing care. While many patients praise the physical therapy team and the modern, clean building, numerous families report severe issues with staff responsiveness, communication, and neglect of vulnerable patients. Prospective families should be aware that while the facility excels in short-term rehab, there are consistent, long-standing complaints regarding understaffing and a lack of compassion in daily care.

Key Review Excerpts

The entire team—nurses, CNAs, occupational and physical therapists, housekeeping staff, activities director, and the social worker—went above and beyond to support my recovery.

Rehab patient · 2025★★★★★

My 88 year old mom was admitted to tcu after a spinal fusion. After multiple falls at this tcu, her surgery is declared a failure and she will now be on hospice. Please do your due diligence, I wish I had.

Long-term resident's family · 2023☆☆☆☆

The nurses at night are Somalian they got rude with him and he ended up feeling like he was a burden to them. They didn't give him his painkillers on time , he would scream for help in middle of night for help.

Aurora On France shows a concerning pattern with 34 deficiencies across four surveys, including families filing complaints that triggered investigations into abuse reporting and care planning issues. The facility has recurring problems with fire safety systems, infection control, and basic care quality that persist across multiple years, though all violations have correction dates. The pattern of repeated fire safety violations and complaint-triggered investigations regarding resident protection suggests ongoing operational challenges families should carefully consider.
