What this means for your family

This facility shows a pattern of highly polarized experiences. While many recent reviewers report a positive, clean, and engaging environment, there are critical, recurring reports of facility maintenance issues and serious medical neglect. We strongly advise families to conduct an unannounced visit to inspect room cleanliness and hot water access, and to maintain high levels of personal involvement in their loved one's daily care.

Accordius Health at Gastonia (also referred to as Belmont Health and Rehab) presents a stark contrast in experiences, with recent reviews showing a surge of high ratings alongside serious allegations of neglect and poor facility conditions. While some families and rehab patients praise the staff's friendliness and the facility's cleanliness, others report critical failures including unaddressed medical injuries, lack of hot water, and pest issues. Prospective families should be aware of these polarized reports and conduct thorough, in-person visits.

26 complaint-triggered

Families have filed complaints that triggered 13 deficiencies, including repeated issues with maintaining a safe, clean, comfortable environment. The facility shows persistent problems across all three surveys with fire safety systems, care planning and assessments, and food safety. While all deficiencies have correction dates, the recurring pattern of similar violations across multiple years suggests ongoing operational challenges families should carefully consider.
