What this means for your family

Because the available reviews are largely empty star ratings, there is insufficient information to evaluate the current standard of care. We strongly recommend scheduling an in-person tour to observe staff-to-resident interactions and asking management directly about their staff retention rates and training programs.

Questions for Your Tour

  • 1Given the recent turnover in the care team, what specific steps is the facility taking to ensure residents receive consistent, personalized attention from familiar faces?
  • 2I noticed the health inspection ratings are currently lower than the staffing ratings; could you walk me through the specific improvements you are implementing to address those recent state citations?
  • 3How does your leadership team foster a culture of empathy and emotional support among the staff to ensure residents feel truly cared for on a daily basis?
  • 4With 120 residents here, how do you structure your daily activity calendar to ensure that everyone, regardless of their mobility or needs, has meaningful opportunities for social engagement?
  • 5In the event of a medical emergency, what is your specific protocol for communicating with family members and coordinating care with local hospitals?
  • 6Since there are limited details available online about the resident experience, could you share a recent example of how your team went above and beyond to support a resident's specific personal preference or hobby?

Key Review Excerpts

they did okay with grandma. didn't like the fact that so many workers come and go. that US nursing home jobs tho. I know they don't get enough credit. however nursing homes don't get enough workers that take their job to heart. not all, however; most of them could care less about their patients. AND THAT IS JUST SAD!

Twin Pines shows a concerning pattern of recurring deficiencies across three surveys, with 60 total violations. The facility struggles persistently with food safety and preparation, fire safety systems, and care planning requirements. One complaint was filed by families leading to a care quality citation. While all deficiencies show correction dates, the repeated nature of violations in critical areas like food handling and safety systems suggests ongoing operational challenges that families should carefully evaluate.
