What this means for your family

This facility's rehabilitation therapy team is widely regarded as excellent, making it a potential option for short-term recovery. However, the recurring reports of severe neglect, understaffing, and poor communication suggest significant risks for long-term residents. If you choose this facility, ensure you have a plan for frequent, unscheduled visits to monitor your loved one's care and hygiene.

The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at River Valley receives highly polarized feedback, with a clear divide between those praising the rehabilitation therapy team and those reporting severe neglect. While many reviewers highlight the concierge and therapy staff as bright spots, a significant number of families describe dangerous understaffing, poor hygiene, and inadequate medical oversight. Potential families should be aware of consistent reports regarding delayed medication, poor food quality, and communication breakdowns with management.

Key Review Excerpts

The therapy group is the only thing this place has good to offer. The patients are not priority by know means most of the staff does not like to do what is required to treat patients.

Family member · 2023☆☆☆☆

My mom was there for 24 hours without food or water. I asked to speak with her social worker who was on vacation and the other part time social worker doesn't work on Wednesday.

Family member · 2021☆☆☆☆

The care plan doesn't go as planned. Communication with day staff to evening staff doesn't happen. My mother fell out of her wheelchair on Valentine's Day at 4pm, she was supposed to have an alarm as she is a fall risk.
