What this means for your family

While some families report a warm and clean environment, the recent and severe allegations of neglect and abuse are deeply concerning. We strongly recommend that you conduct unannounced visits at different times of the day and speak directly with residents to verify the quality of care before making a decision.

Temple Manor Nursing Home receives highly polarized feedback, with some families praising the cleanliness and friendly staff, while others report severe concerns regarding neglect and abuse. Critical reviews allege issues with hygiene, medication timing, and unprofessional behavior by nursing staff, which stand in stark contrast to the positive experiences reported by other visitors. Questions for Your Tour

  • 1With a capacity of 48 residents, how does your team ensure that each individual receives consistent, personalized attention for daily hygiene and grooming needs?
  • 2I noticed your staffing rating is lower than your health inspection score; could you explain how you manage shift coverage to ensure residents receive their medications exactly on time?
  • 3We read that your team is very active in organizing resident events; could you walk us through what a typical week of social activities looks like for someone living here?
  • 4Communication is a priority for our family; what is your standard process for keeping families updated on changes in a resident's health or daily care?
  • 5We appreciate that you engage with feedback online; how do you use that input to improve the dining experience and food quality for your residents?
  • 6Given your strong health inspection record, what specific protocols do you have in place to handle medical emergencies or urgent care needs during the night shift?

Key Review Excerpts

It smells of urine upon entering the building and through-out facility, floors were dirty, staff was unattentive to residents. Call button not within reach of residents.

Long-term resident's family · 2022☆☆☆☆

My daughter was in training there and she noticed the CNAs did not wipe the patients well leaving poop on them and verbally abusing them. They’d leave patients in their diapers all day and leave dirty diapers on the floor.

Family member of a trainee/observer · 2025☆☆☆☆

I visit my relative several times a week at Temple Manor. It is always clean and the staff is friendly. The food is great. Residents are treated like family.
