What this means for your family

While Sunset Villa is frequently praised for its clean environment and friendly staff, the recent reports of medical neglect and poor responsiveness to health crises are deeply concerning. If you consider this facility, we strongly recommend conducting an unannounced visit and asking specifically about their protocols for monitoring infections and responding to call lights during off-hours.

Sunset Villa Healthcare presents a stark contrast between recent highly positive reviews and severe allegations of neglect from families of former residents. While many visitors praise the facility for its cleanliness, friendly atmosphere, and attentive staff, multiple families have reported critical failures in medical care, including unaddressed infections, medication errors, and the loss of personal belongings. Families considering this facility should weigh the reported warm environment against serious concerns regarding clinical oversight and responsiveness.

Visitor · 2025★★★★★

This place failed to take care of my dad, get him any treatment for an infection he had for over a month. He ended up falling alot and becoming unresponsive, sepsis, bladder infection, seizures and uti that is contagious, ESLB.

Family member · 2025☆☆☆☆

The food was terrible (my mom was grossed out daily), and the care was even worse. They left her several times with the call light on and no one checking on her for more than an hour.

Sunset Villa Healthcare has concerning patterns with 77 deficiencies across six surveys, including multiple family complaints about abuse protection, safety hazards, and treatment issues. The facility repeatedly struggles with care planning, medication management, and basic safety measures, with many issues recurring across multiple surveys despite reported corrections. Most deficiencies show correction dates, but the persistent nature of problems across resident rights, quality of care, and safety suggests ongoing challenges requiring careful family evaluation.
