What this means for your family

While Sherbrooke Village is visually impressive and has a very dedicated admissions and therapy team, the recent transition to a new ownership group has coincided with reports of inconsistent staffing and care quality. We strongly advise families to conduct unannounced visits during weekends or evenings to observe the actual level of care, as this is when most complaints occur.

Sherbrooke Village receives significant praise for its clean, well-maintained environment and specific staff members who are described as compassionate and attentive. However, families should be aware of recurring reports regarding understaffing, inconsistent hygiene care, and poor communication from nursing staff, particularly during off-hours and weekends. While many families are highly satisfied with the rehab and assisted living experience, others have raised serious concerns about the quality of medical oversight and responsiveness.

Key Review Excerpts

The only disappointment was lack of showering. There should be a schedule for patients. There was always an excuse not to shower her until we begged.

Long-term resident's family · 2022★★★★

The facility is clean, bright and home-like and the staff are friendly and caring... That being said, I am optimistic that everything will be stable and back to offering the care we expect for our family member within the next couple of weeks.

Memory care family member · 2024★★★☆☆

My uncle had a stay there for rehab after a pacemaker insertion. What was suppose to be an easy rehab turned out to be the end of my uncle. The facility is very attractive but looks can be deceiving.
