What this means for your family

While recent reviews suggest an improvement in leadership and facility atmosphere, the facility has a history of serious neglect allegations. If you choose this facility, it is critical to visit frequently and at irregular hours to monitor your loved one's hygiene and responsiveness to care needs.

Google Reviews

Google Reviews

113 reviews on Google
Northern Cardinal Rehabilitation and Nursing receives highly polarized feedback, with many recent reviews praising the facility's leadership, cleanliness, and rehabilitation services, while others report severe neglect. Families considering this facility should be aware of recurring, serious allegations regarding hygiene, delayed response times to call buttons, and inconsistent medication administration. While many visitors highlight specific staff members for their kindness, the disparity between the glowing 5-star reviews and the distressing 1-star accounts suggests a highly inconsistent experience that warrants careful, in-person monitoring.

Key Review Excerpts

My dad was there for 3 weeks. There were multiple complaints brought to the staffs' attention to include not receiving medications, doctor ordered tests not being done in a timely manner, hungry and not receiving enough food, dirty, and staff not attending to requests in a timely manner.

Long-term resident's family · 2023☆☆☆☆

They leave their patients in soiled diapers for hours, leaving sores on the patients. My family sat for 5 hours in a feces soiled diaper. They do not provide medication when scheduled.

Family member · 2024☆☆☆☆

The therapy team worked wonders, nursing did their job, and the food was tasty. Building could be updated more, if I had to point out something.

Northern Cardinal Rehabilitation has a concerning pattern with 70 deficiencies across four surveys, including families filing complaints about care planning, accident prevention, and infection control. The facility has recurring problems with medication management, care planning, and fire safety systems appearing repeatedly across multiple inspections from 2018-2023. While all issues show correction dates, the persistence of similar deficiencies suggests ongoing operational challenges that families should carefully consider.
