What this means for your family

This facility has a history of serious safety and neglect concerns that should be carefully investigated before admission. While some families report positive experiences with the therapy team, the recurring reports of understaffing and poor medical oversight are critical red flags; we strongly recommend touring the facility unannounced and speaking with current residents' families.

Key Review Excerpts

My mother was badly mistreated physically and verbally by this place there were several times I had to make them take her food and change her... this place killed her

Long-term resident's family · 2022☆☆☆☆

The air conditioning has been out for over a month in 90+ degrees temperatures in Alabama of all places. Totally unacceptable for family members to suffer! Now there are ginormous bugs just walking around like they pay rent!

Family member · 2021☆☆☆☆

The only reason I give this place two stars is because of the handful of good nurses and RNA’s. Most of the nurses are rude a lot of the RNA’s are lazy. we did not even finish our stay for our two week rehab because of the care my husband was getting

10deficiencies
Well above state avg (3.9)
1 complaint-triggered

North Hill has had 23 deficiencies across three surveys, with one complaint filed by families regarding notification requirements. The most frequent issues involve resident rights violations, medication management problems, and infection control lapses. Concerning patterns include recurring resident rights issues across multiple surveys (2019, 2021, 2024) and medication management deficiencies appearing in the most recent inspection. While all deficiencies show correction dates, the persistence of core care issues across years suggests ongoing operational challenges families should investigate further.
