What this means for your family

While Medilodge of Richmond is often praised for its clean facility and effective rehab therapy, the recurring reports of severe understaffing and supply shortages are critical red flags. If you are considering this facility, we strongly recommend visiting during off-hours or weekends to observe staff responsiveness and asking specific questions about their current supply management and nurse-to-patient ratios.

Medilodge of Richmond receives highly polarized feedback, with many families praising the clean, modern facility and helpful rehab staff, while others report severe neglect and systemic understaffing. Critical concerns include long response times for call lights, poor hygiene, and shortages of basic supplies like wipes and linens. Prospective families should weigh the positive experiences of short-term rehab patients against the serious allegations of neglect regarding long-term care.

Key Review Excerpts

My mom was brought there for rehab after an AKA. She was supposed to have a wound vac and it was never applied, the nurse said they were out of adult depends so they weren't able to change her.

Rehab patient's family · 2021☆☆☆☆

The facility barely keeps anything stocked for their aides. The food is horrible and nothing you should be feeding your family. And the management , especially the DON Tara are horrible to deal with.

Family member · 2025☆☆☆☆

Facility is clean and welcoming. I felt safe and at home my whole stay. Staff treated me with dignity and respect. Food is good. My Phsical Therapy group were wonderful and a great help in my recovery.
