What this means for your family

While some families report positive long-term experiences, the severe allegations regarding administrative integrity and the handling of dementia patients are major red flags. I strongly advise families to tour the facility, specifically ask about their discharge policy for memory care residents, and verify their current state inspection status.

Meadowlark Retirement Village B receives polarized feedback, with long-term residents' families praising the staff's compassion and the residents' happiness. However, serious allegations regarding administrative integrity, such as falsifying occupancy records for inspections and the abrupt discharge of dementia patients, raise significant concerns for prospective families.

Key Review Excerpts

He loves the staff, food, and his apartment. Mom passed away there two years ago. The staff were excellent in the treatment of her and our whole family at the time.

Long-term resident's family · 2025★★★★★

If your loved one has dementia do not take them to their memory care unit. They apparently don't really understand what dementia is and it is beyond me why they added a memory care unit.

Memory care family member · 2019☆☆☆☆

Absolutely horrible place. The front desk and the executive director are very unprofessional and uncaring. Not to mention in order to pass a state inspection they put fake names on the MANY empty rooms doors to make it look they had more residents than they have which is illegal.
