What this means for your family

While many families report excellent, personalized care and successful rehabilitation, the report of severe neglect and pressure sores is a critical red flag. When touring, we strongly recommend asking for the facility's recent state survey results regarding wound care protocols and staffing ratios to ensure your loved one's safety.

McCoy Memorial Nursing Center receives polarized feedback, with many families praising the dedicated nursing and CNA staff for their compassionate care and effective rehabilitation support. However, serious allegations regarding neglect, specifically the development of stage 4 bed sores and a lack of physical therapy, highlight significant inconsistencies in patient safety and clinical oversight.

Key Review Excerpts

My grandmother was here for almost a year and they never did physical therapy with her or turn her in her bed to keep from getting bed sores. My grandmothers health declined fast because of this and she did get stage 4 bed sores that we DO have pictures of.

Grandchild of former resident · 2024☆☆☆☆

Everyone has worked so hard with him to help him eat and get stronger. We are so thankful to Vicky and Tommie Sue who have helped make him have an at home experience and put our minds at ease.

Sibling of current resident · 2024★★★★★

She returned home with so much more mobility. Thanks to all at McCoy's.
