What this means for your family

This facility is highly regarded for its physical therapy outcomes and administrative support, making it a strong candidate for rehabilitation. However, because multiple reviewers have reported inconsistent hygiene and concerning staff behavior, we strongly recommend unannounced visits and direct observation of your loved one's daily care routine.

Locust Ridge Healthcare receives highly polarized feedback, with many families praising the staff's warmth and dedication, while others report serious concerns regarding neglect and unprofessional behavior. While the facility is frequently described as a close-knit, caring environment, several reviewers have raised alarms about poor hygiene, inadequate medical attention, and rude staff interactions. Prospective families should weigh the strong therapy outcomes and individual staff praise against reports of inconsistent care standards.

Key Review Excerpts

When Matt first entered Locust Ridge, Matt was in a wheelchair and was being fed through a peg in his stomach. When Matt left Locust Ridge and “graduated” to an Assisted Living facility he no longer had the peg and is currently walking with no assistance.

Memory care family member · 2025★★★★★

My mother was there for therapy. Bill and Barb were two very good nurses. Mom liked both of them quite a bit. Destiny was very helpful with mom and nice to mom. Ashley was extremely helpful with guiding us through medicare to give mom the best chance for regaining her independence.

Long-term resident's family · 2026★★★★

The level of care as declined since my MIL was in there years ago. They used to be caring and efficient. The 2nd shift nurse is rude and nasty to patients. They take away my Dad's call button . I am beyond livid.

Locust Ridge Healthcare has persistent fire safety and building code deficiencies, with recurring issues in emergency exits, fire alarms, and electrical systems appearing across multiple surveys from 2019-2024. Families have filed complaints leading to deficiencies in infection control, medication management, and care administration. While all deficiencies show correction dates, the repetitive nature of fire safety violations across years suggests ongoing facility maintenance challenges that families should consider.
