An initial licensure survey was completed on 12/3/24. A deficiency was cited. Based on observation and interviews, the residence failed to be in compliance with all applicable regulations.This failure created the potential for mismanagement of the care of and services for the residents who would be served by this residence.Findings include:20.2 An assisted living residence seeking an initial license, or a licensed assisted living residence undergoing an addition, renovation, or construction that triggers a compliance review in accordance with Part 3 of 6 CCR 1011-1, Chapter 2, shall comply with the FGI requirements in that Part 3, except as follows: (A) Assisted living residences are subject only to Part 1, any cross-referenced Part 2 systems, and Part 4.1 of the Guidelines for Design and Construction of Residential Health, Care and Support Facilities, Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI). (B) The number of parking spaces to be provided by the assisted living residence shall be based solely on local requirements and the functional need of the resident population. (C) Assisted living residences that are located in single-family residential neighborhoods and are operating in structures designed to be single-family homes shall be exempt from compliance with FGI Guidelines that each resident have access to a bathroom without entering a corridor and that the building have an elevator that is sized to accommodate a gurney and/or medical carts.FGI guideline section 2.3-4.2.6.2(1) reads: "Clinical sink or equivalent flushing-rim fixture with a rinsing hose or bedpan washer. A soiled utility room is required and it is to contain the above sink, a hand-washing station, space for soiled linen and space for waste receptacles. It can be combined with the laundry and/or environmental services room."On 12/3/24 at approximately 10:45 a.m., three sinks were observed in the residence' s laundry room; however, none of the sinks appeared to be flushable.On 12/3/24 at 10:45 a.m., the administrator stated the residence' s service sink was a flushable sink. On 12/3/24 at 11:41 a.m., a department representative confirmed the sink the administrator claimed..
