What this means for your family

While some families report successful rehabilitation outcomes, the recurring reports of neglect, hygiene failures, and communication barriers are deeply concerning. If you choose to consider this facility, we strongly recommend unannounced visits at various times of the day and night to observe actual care standards, and ensuring you have a direct line of communication with a specific staff member you trust.

Evercare at Stearns presents a highly polarized experience for families, with reviews split between praise for specific staff members and severe allegations of neglect. While some families report successful rehabilitation and compassionate care, a significant number of reviewers describe dangerous lapses in medical oversight, poor communication, and administrative incompetence. Potential families should be aware of consistent reports regarding hygiene issues, unresponsiveness to call lights, and difficulty obtaining medical updates.

Key Review Excerpts

My mother arrived there in terrible condition, she wasn’t eating, frail and very sick. She couldn’t do much for herself but by the time she left after 2 1/2 months she was completely back to doing for herself, eating and had gone from 98lbs to 141 lbs.

Rehab patient's family · 2026★★★★★

My father laid there and got so sick he couldnt move. Sores and infections lead to a blood infection. I was up there enough to know how much he was neglected.

Long-term resident's family · 2025☆☆☆☆

The Administrator, Director of Nursing and a few of the nurses were horribly unprofessional and bullies. They tried to tell me I couldn't take Donna to the hospital without their permission and that nothing was wrong with her despite having lab work that showed red and white blood cells in her urine.

Evercare at Stearns has concerning patterns of recurring deficiencies, with families filing 17 complaints that triggered federal investigations. The facility repeatedly struggles with protecting residents from abuse and neglect, medication management, and proper care treatment across multiple surveys from 2023-2025. While all violations show correction dates, the persistent nature of issues in critical areas like resident protection and pharmacy services suggests ongoing systemic problems that warrant careful consideration.
