What this means for your family

While the facility's physical therapy department receives some praise, the overwhelming number of reports regarding neglect, unsanitary conditions, and communication failures makes this a high-risk choice. If you must consider this facility, we strongly recommend unannounced visits and verifying current staffing ratios with the state health department.

Emerald Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (formerly Hillcrest) faces severe and consistent criticism regarding patient neglect, unsanitary conditions, and poor communication. While a subset of reviewers praises the physical therapy department and specific staff members for their dedication, these positive experiences are frequently overshadowed by reports of residents left in soiled clothing, understaffed shifts, and unresponsive administration.

Key Review Excerpts

My grandfather was here for 3 days trying to receive physical therapy to get him walking again and, during those 3 days he caught covid and pneumonia from the dirtiness of this place. He sat in his own feces for an entire night, no nurses came to check on him.

Long-term resident's family · 2024☆☆☆☆

The best thing about this building is the rehab department, they always have a smile in their faces and will go out of their way to help out, and the rehab manager answer all of my questions and was very kind.

Family member · 2019★★★★

The staff is overwhelmed with the amount of patients they have to deal with. You can’t blame them totally. Right now I am having a problem with Things that were promised to me when I was going home.
