What this means for your family
While Ely Manor is praised for its clean environment and friendly staff, there is a consistent pattern of communication failures and slow response times for basic care needs. Before committing, we strongly advise you to ask for a direct contact person for updates and observe the facility during a weekend or evening shift to see if response times meet your expectations.

Key Review Excerpts
“My mother was there for rehabilitation from a broken leg. We think the care and compassion were top notch except for 2 things: one day she did not get her pain meds for over an hour, leaving her in tears and unable to get anyone to come help her and the other thing is: she doesn’t eat pork. They kept serving her pork: sausage, ham several times, and she just couldn’t eat it for her protein!”
“My step father lives here and I am his guardian. I do not like this nursing home. On the website and on the paperwork they send you it looks professional but they don't deliver what they advertise. They set up meetings for me because it's required by law but then they don't show up or they don't return my phone calls.”
“My family member was transferred here from hospital for rehab care. Left her sitting on side of bed for an hour, didn’t bring her dinner, did not administer pain meds in the evening and didn’t give her daily medication in the morning.”

Inspection History
Medicare Inspection History
3-year lookback · Medicare 2026
Ely Manor shows a concerning pattern with 40% of deficiencies triggered by family complaints, indicating ongoing issues that prompted external reports. The facility repeatedly struggles with accident prevention and safety supervision, care planning, and abuse/neglect prevention across multiple years. While all deficiencies show correction dates, the persistence of similar problems - particularly safety hazards appearing in complaint investigations from 2023 through 2025 - suggests systemic challenges that families should carefully evaluate during visits.
