What this means for your family

While the therapy department is frequently praised, the recurring reports of medication errors and hygiene neglect are extremely concerning. If you choose this facility, we strongly recommend daily in-person visits to monitor your loved one's medication administration and personal care, as communication with staff is frequently reported as unreliable.

Diversicare of Big Springs receives a high volume of critical reviews from families reporting severe neglect, including patients left in soiled conditions for hours, medication errors, and unaddressed medical needs. While a small subset of reviewers praises the therapy team and specific staff members, the overwhelming pattern of reports regarding understaffing and poor communication makes this a high-risk facility for prospective residents.

Key Review Excerpts

My mother was sent to this place for a short rehab stay after being released from Huntsville hospital.. ended up leaving after 10 day having seizures because they were not giving her the medicine she was supposed to be taken

Short-term rehab family member · 2024☆☆☆☆

They left my dad in a soiled diaper with an open bed sore. He just got over a MRSA infection, and he is a diabetic. He would call for help and they either wouldn’t come at all or it would be 45 mins to an hour later.

Long-term resident's family · 2025☆☆☆☆

The therapists are top notch! They do an excellent job to get patients where they need to be in order to return home.
