What this means for your family

While this facility has a strong reputation for physical therapy and compassionate care, there is a recurring pattern of reports regarding slow response times and communication gaps during medical crises. We strongly recommend that families conduct a tour and specifically ask about the nurse-to-patient ratio on weekends and the protocol for escalating medical concerns to management.

  • 2Given the focus on person-centered care, what specific activities or social programs are available to help residents feel connected and engaged within the community?
  • 3When a resident has an urgent medical need or a health change, what is your specific process for ensuring family members are notified and involved in the decision-making?
  • 4We understand that timely assistance is vital; what protocols do you have in place to ensure that call lights are answered promptly and that staff are readily available to help?

Key Review Excerpts

My mom is passing and while she could still talk she let us know that it takes 25 to 30 minutes to get help on and off the toilet... we asked for meds to manage her pain was told a few hours only to have to remind them again and wait another 40 minutes.

Family member of resident · 2024☆☆☆☆

My father with non life-threatening stroke passed away just 5 weeks after admission here. Neglect, pressure sore, leg edema, over-medicated and complete lack of care/ concern. Aides roll their eyes if you ask for assist.

Family member of resident · 2018☆☆☆☆

My sister was here early last year following a prolonged hospitalization in Rochester and they took exceptional care of her while recovered on the Dove unit. She frequently told us how staff treated her like a princess and would always go above and beyond with any request she had.
