These current public-data fields deserve follow-up with the facility and the official Medicare record. They are not a clinical risk score or a substitute for an in-person assessment.
Staff turnover reported at 25%
Avera Prince of Peace has a strong overall Medicare rating. RN hours meet the EveryPlace reference benchmark, which is one useful staffing signal to discuss during a visit. Public reviewers frequently mention: engaged physical therapy staff and some positive experiences with rehab services. Review the component ratings and current source records before deciding.
Avera Prince of Peace receives consistently poor feedback regarding staff responsiveness, professionalism, and basic care standards. While some reviewers acknowledge effective physical therapy services, multiple families report serious concerns including ignored call lights, theft of personal property, and neglectful behavior by nursing staff.

Key Review Excerpts
“I found Avera POP to truly be the best caregiver in the area. As with all centers, there will be an occasional employee who cares little for their job, but it was very minimal here. Moreover, the PT staff was quite engaged in seeking recovery and there are attempts made to give people interaction.”
“On one occasion my Dad called my Mom to ask her to call the nurses station as he believed his call button was not working. He had pushed it 25 minutes before and no one was answering.”
“My mother had suffered a fall,as a result of a stroke. During her stay, she had fell...in the bathroom. NO ONE responded to her alert. She was discovered by my Father, who had come to visit. She had been laying in the bathroom for 30 +minutes or more.”
This facility meets both EveryPlace staffing reference benchmarks. Higher staffing is generally associated with stronger day-to-day care.
Reference benchmarks (0.75 RN and 4.1 total nursing hours per resident/day) are comparison targets, not current federal minimum requirements.
